Symantec Gateway Security is an integrated gateway security appliance that incorporates five core security functions into a single solution to effectively prevent security breaches at the network perimeter.

It delivers robust protection, preventing security breaches at the gateway between the Internet and corporate networks as well as between network segments. Because Symantec Gateway Security incorporates industry-leading firewall, antivirus, intrusion detection, content filtering, and VPN technologies into a ready-to-deploy solution where all security functions work together seamlessly, it reduces the cost and complexity of acquiring, installing, and managing separate components. For easy and efficient administration, all security functions can be configured and managed locally or remotely via an intuitive GUI in the Symantec Raptor Management Console; and all functions utilize a common reporting scheme, making it easy to analyze and understand security metrics. Symantec Gateway Security 400 Series appliances provide integrated firewall and five additional security technologies, with network routing functions, wireless access, and scalable management for remote/small branch offices.
