The NetVanta 1000 Series is a family of integrated switch - router platforms and standalone managed Fast Ethernet switches. This series features four unique all-in-one network access platforms that combine LAN/WAN functionality into a single 1U chassis: the NetVanta 1224R switch - router, the NetVanta 1224STR switch - router with Gigabit uplink, the NetVanta 1224R PoE Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch - router, and the NetVanta 1224STR PoE switch - router with dual Gigabit uplinks. Each platform provides everything needed for branch office connectivity, combining the functionality of five devices for the price of one. These products combine a 24-port Fast Ethernet Layer 2 switch with a full-featured IP router, modular WAN interface, stateful inspection firewall, and optional VPN capability. ADTRAN’s popular NetVanta 1000 Series integrated switch-routers and managed Ethernet switches are now available in Power over Ethernet versions. Using 802.3af, these 24-port Layer 2 switches can equip networks with everything needed for powering IP phones today or for power requirements for future migration to Voice over IP (VoIP). PoE is ideal for supporting wireless access points and other 802.3af powered devices. ADTRAN switches use the data pair to provide data and power to networked LAN devices with support for up to 15.4 watts per Ethernet port. Standards-based and designed with the reliability of an ADTRAN-engineered powering solution, these products provide a lower-cost future-proof switching solution that eliminates the need for extra in-house wiring to accommodate newly deployed LAN-powered devices.
